Virtual Private Networks

A virtual private network (VPN), is a network that is constructed using public wires, ie the Internet. To ensure security, the systems use encryption and other mechanisms to ensure that only authorised users can access the network and that the data cannot be intercepted. There are many different ways of creating these links, one of the more secure and less network / server intensive is to use dedicated VPN router servers.

Broadband VPN Routers have built-in Virtual Private Network (VPN) servers, ideal for securely accessing a remote corporate networks. By establishing authenticated and encrypted tunnels over the Internet, remote workers can remotely log into a corporate LAN or remote offices can establish a secure link to the head office.

Share Work and Printers
VPNs allow not only authenticated login to the company network but to work as though you were there. Share or transfer files, update your database, or print directly to your office printer. In addition you company exchange servers can constantly keep you synchronised, providing calendar sharing and Blackberry solutions that will provide the best solution for instant email and calendar interactivity across multiple site locations.

Firewall's
The safety of your data lies in the strength of your firewall. Many of today's software anti-virus solutions include personal firewall's but these are not designed to protect your companies infrastructure. The only solution is a dedicated hardware device.
High security firewall's provide Denial of Service (DoS) protection and Intrusion Detection using Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI), URL access and content filtering, logging, reporting, and real-time alerts. Network Address Translation (NAT) routing enables shared access to your broadband connection, with web page URL content filtering and 168-bit 3DES IPSec encryption capability. Real time alerts can be sent by e-mail notification of network activity.
